Brunchin’ at #1762Stripped

I’d been wanting to try out this restaurant for a while now, and decided finally on one Friday late morning to check out 1762. And boy can I tell you, I did not regret it one bit – worth every dirham spent!

Food – 5/5

From a Friday specials menu, I ordered the Brûléed French Toast with berry compote (without whipped cream) and a side of scrambled eggs, and my friend ordered an Eggs Benedict: two poached eggs on an english muffin with bacon on the side, and a Mexican Hot Chocolate.

Talk about a perfect English breakfast. 🙂

Here are our thoughts on our breakfast:

  1. I took one bite of the French Toast and I was in heaven – I don’t know if it was the hunger, or the absolutely perfect combination of a crunchy caramel exterior and a melt-in-the-mouth sweet filling. Top this off with a berry compote and you’ve got yourself an indulgent and sweet breakfast! I can still taste this in my mouth by the way 😉IMG_4911
  2. I love my scrambled eggs medium-cooked, and that on the side was the perfect savoury to complete the meal.
  3. The Mexican Hot Chocolate was a perfect portion size with a sweet and cinnamon flavour that was apt to the taste buds.IMG_4916
  4. And finally, given I’m vegetarian I didn’t try the Eggs Benedict, but my friend looked like he was absolutely delighting in the meal. His description: “It was the perfect combination of the bacon eggs and muffin with each bite being relished in – I just didn’t want it to get over!”IMG_4914

Didn’t have to wait too long on the food either which was a big plus! Also, we devoured our food within ten minutes without talking – that’s just how delicious the food was!

Ambiance – 4/5

1762 Stripped is in the corner of JLT – The 1. A fairly popular place, I was looking for a place near home to go out for breakfast and another food blogger I follow had given a raving recommendation, hence naturally I had to go. 🙂 This restaurant is filled with rustic and wooden furniture with a concept that encompasses an eco-friendly atmosphere in their ambiance as well as their retail and cutlery as well. If you head on to the top floor you’ve got cozy and warm furniture that’ll allow you to relish in your meal and side by side either read a book or get work done. Truly, you can find yourself at ease in this charming cafe with the sounds of friendly chatter on a Friday morning.

Customer service – 4/5

On a busy and bustling morning, it was difficult to judge this to be honest, but everyone seemed nice and the waiter asked us if our order was complete, to make sure that nothing was forgotten. The cashier at the counter also gave us a several suggestions (so many options to choose from!) and was really sweet to us. 🙂

Location: JLT – The 1

Approx. Price for 2: AED140 for the whole meal we had

Final Rating: 4/5

Will definitely go back again!
